The main treatment for SIBO are antibiotics, and there are two or three generally commonly used antibiotics that you take for a course, that could range from seven to 14 days. Maybe one antibiotic or a combination. But those antibiotics free the bacterial overgrowth, and usually helps resolve the symptoms. Other treatments which have been tried and may be of benefit in some patients, could be dietary modifications and probiotics. But the main treatment will be with antibiotics.
