Preimplantation Genetic Testing (PGT)

What is PGT? Preimplantation genetic testing (PGT) tests for genetic diseases that you may be at risk of passing on to your children, such as cystic fibrosis. It’s also suitable for older mothers who may have a higher risk of a Down’s Syndrome baby. Your eggs are fertilised in the laboratory and taken through to day 5 stage. They are tested for genetic diseases and only chromosomally-normal eggs are implanted.
