YouTube vs your own website: which is better for healthcare video SEO
YouTube and on-site video each support different stages of the healthcare user journey. In this video, Dr David Sewell, Head Of Digital, explains how YouTube can help healthcare organisations improve reach and discovery, while video hosted on your own website can support richer SEO, stronger navigation, citation visibility and better audience journeys.
Transcript
Video on YouTube and video on your website can serve the audience in different ways.
On YouTube it helps with things like reach, you can find new audiences more easily as people scroll through looking for answers to their questions.
However, it's a much richer experience on your own website where you can add more complex information such as rich schema data and citation sources and give people the ability to navigate to additional content that's relevant to them.
So for SEO we recommend that both platforms are used because they're serving different purposes in the user journey.
