Where to get tested for low testosterone what type of doctor treats low testosterone?

You can’t take a testosterone tablet as it doesn’t absorb properly. In this video Dr Simon Aylwin of London Endocrinology describes the practice of using testosterone gel as well as injections.

So we've got different ways of replacing testosterone. Annoyingly, you can't take a useful tablet that contains testosterone because it's not absorbed properly. So the way that we replace testosterone is two main forms. Firstly, by using a gel that's spread on any part of the body each day. And testosterone gels are an effective way of getting testosterone into the system. The other way is by using long-acting testosterone injections. Nebido is the injection that we use to treat most frequently, and it's given every three months. It's highly effective. It's just an injection that has to be delivered. So there isn't a better way of replacing testosterone, it's just some individuals would like to use a gel, others will find it more convenient to have an injection every three months.
