Transcript
The treatment, we are looking at various different treatments. The thing with cluster headaches is the treatment is specific to the person and how you react to certain types of drugs. For me, I have high flow oxygen. So when I feel a headache coming on, I can grab my mask and sit with oxygen and that just takes the edge off the pain and stops it reaching its maximum potential. In the past, I was given by my doctor various tablets and drugs, Sumatriptan works for me, it manages to stop it pretty quick. So rather than take it in a tablet form, I now have injections, which Dr. Matharu has sorted for me and seem to be working. We are, next year when I have the cluster again, I'm going to meet with Dr Matharu again to look at that long term and how we can manage that pain. We've also tried nerve root and nerve block injections, which seem to have worked. It's very, very early on, so we're still playing around and trying to find the medication that fits me and works specifically for my style of headaches.
