What tests are there for female infertility?
Simon Fishel lists some of the tests available for female infertility, including testing her egg reserve and assessing her reproductive organ health.

On the female side, the most important thing, first of all, is to understand whether the woman can produce eggs, because we can't undergo IVF with her eggs, hopefully, if she is not producing eggs or has what we call a very low ovarian reserve. That's the kind of phrase that's used. What it means is that every woman has a pool of eggs. She's born with about a million eggs and they reduce over time, and once she's approaching the menopause, there can be very, very few eggs left in the ovary. We can now undertake tests which let us understand if she's likely to produce eggs. So that's very important as well. We also need to understand whether there are certain aspects of her reproductive tract that may cause problems with any embryo that we make. For example, if you put an embryo back in the womb, is the womb a good shape? Is it able to receive that embryo and develop it into the implanting foetus?
