What results can I expect after a coronary angiogram?

Dr Adam Hartley, Consultant cardiologist, explains coronary angiogram results in this video, covering what your cardiologist can see, possible findings and how results guide further treatment decisions. This offers practical, patient-friendly guidance for those considering private care.

Transcript
After a coronary angiogram, your cardiologist will be able to tell you the health of the blood supply to your heart, your coronary arteries, and whether any further steps are required. The outcome from this could be that the arteries are completely unobstructed, with good blood flow to the heart muscle, meaning that any symptoms you may have may be due to other causes and further tests may be required. There may be mild narrowings, which can often be managed with medication or lifestyle measures. If there are significant narrowings or blockages, this also may be managed with tablets or medication, through to fixing them with a stent or a metal tube as required. Or if there are multiple narrowings in different arteries, it may be that a surgical operation is the best treatment for you, but your cardiologist will be able to explain this to you on the day.
