What is Precision Embryo Transfer?

Andrew Thomson explains that Precision Embryo Transfer looks at the exact developmental stage of the embryo, and waiting an extra day and freezing them, this can maximise success.

Transcript
So Precision Embryo Transfer is looking at the actual developmental stage of the embryo. Sometimes we see embryos are a little bit slower and what has traditionally happened is we put two back because we can't tell the overall quality. And, actually, our data analysis shows that by waiting an extra day and freezing those embryos and then putting them back in a frozen cycle, we are maximising the synchronicity between the embryo and your endometrium. And consequently, embryo transfer success rates have gone up using this protocol. And another good thing to note is that when the embryos are put back, they are always done under ultrasound guidance so we can put the embryo in the best possible place that we can.
