What is pelvic vein reflux?
Professor Mark Whiteley, a Consultant Venous Surgeon and Phlebologist, defines pelvic vein reflux as when venous blood has problems travelling from the pelvic organs back to the heart.
Transcript
Pelvic vein reflux is when the valves in the pelvic veins aren't working properly. So when blood is meant to be flowing up from the pelvic organs and legs back into the heart, instead of that, what happens, it starts flowing up and then when we relax, the blood falls back down causing trauma and inflammation in the pelvic organs.
