PCOS refers to a condition where the ovaries look polycystic on a pelvic ultrasound scan, and that will involve numerous small follicles seen within the ovaries. And, with that, the patient will experience symptoms related to this condition. So, the patient may present with infrequent menstrual cycles, so they don't have regular periods. They may have a period every month, two months so they could be spaced out. They could have signs related to increased androgen production, so an increase in the hormone testosterone. So, patients may present with increased hair growth in certain parts as the face or the neck area, or they could have acne or greasy skin. A proportion of patients can be overweight. And we do see patients with polycystic ovarian syndrome with varied presentations, and fertilities are common presentation in this group.
