What is frozen embryo transfer?

Dr Ippokratis Sarris explainsfrozen embryo transfer, in which an embryo is stored for future use if it is not used in the initial cycle.

Transcript
If an embryo has not been used during a fresh cycle of IVF, then it can be frozen and stored for future use. When the time comes to use it, then we monitor a woman's cycle and we create the environment which is optimal in order to be able to receive the embryo. At that time, we unfreeze or thaw the embryo, and we place it back into the womb, hopefully, achieving a pregnancy.
