What is an undescended teste?

Transcript
An undescended testicle is a testicle that hasn't descended normally, and it can occur anywhere from the abdomen down into the groin region. Normally, both testis are within the scrotum by the age of three months, but in some children, they don't descend fully. We don't really know why they don't descend fully, but certainly an adult, it's some patients present with undescended testis. Even if the testis has been noted to be undescended in childhood and fixed within the scrotum, there is an increased risk of testis cancer in those patients and fertility issues, and patients need to be aware of them. Generally speaking, in adults, though, if the testis still is in the abdomen or in the groin, the testis is usually removed, because there is an increased risk of testis cancer.
