What further tests or scans do I need before we can confirm the stage and best treatment plan?

Mr Walter Cazzaniga outlines the further tests used to confirm the stage of testicular cancer and plan treatment. He explains ultrasound, tumour marker blood tests and CT scans, and in this video mentions PET or MRI scans in selected cases requiring additional assessment.

Transcript
For testicular cancer, the diagnosis is normally made on the basis of an ultrasound and a blood test to check for tumour markers specifically to the disease. The staging, so whether the cancer has spread or not to other parts of your body, is then completed with a CT scan that includes the chest, the abdomen and pelvis. In specific cases, for patients harbouring a specific type of disease, a PET scan can be used and also an MRI to check for disease within the brain of the central nervous system can be used.
