Transcript
If you were to have a heart procedure, the first thing you would do after the procedure itself is to have some monitoring to make sure that you've recovered adequately from either the anaesthetic or the procedure itself. Depending on the procedure, you might end up staying overnight for monitoring or you might go home the same day depending on the length and the complexity and the type of procedure. During that time, you will be reviewed by the doctors on the ward and have ongoing nursing care up until the point you're discharged from hospital. Once you're discharged, it is the routine to have follow-up appointments with your specialist and your cardiologist going forward. That could be depending on the procedure and the circumstances a few weeks after the procedure to check in on how you responded, to adjust your medication, to decide whether any further testing. or any further treatments are required at that stage.
