It's a good idea whether you have an ileostomy or a colostomy to stay off high fibrous foods the day before. So fruit, vegetables, foods that may cause extra wind like beans or lentils, just then you may be more comfortable the following day. It's a good idea to take wind relief tablets with you so you can have those if you need them on the flight to make you a bit more comfortable and you might need to visit the toilet little bit more frequently to empty wind from the bag. But essentially the filter should work quite well. It's also a good idea not to have fizzy drinks when you're on the flight because they can increase the amount of wind you have as well.
