What can an MRI show?
MRI scans are especially good at showing detailed scans of soft tissue throughout the body and brain, says Queen Square Senior Neuroradiographer Kirsty Price
Transcript
So an MRI scan shows tissues in the body, specifically anything with a lot of water molecules in. So anything, for example, CSF or water in the brain and water in muscle. So MRI is looking for water molecules. So anything, any soft tissues are demonstrated extremely well on MRI. It's maybe not always suitable for bone, but any other soft tissue can be demonstrated very, very well on MRI scans.
