What are the first signs and symptoms of kidney cancer?

Mr Walter Cazzaniga explains the early signs and symptoms of kidney cancer, including why many cases are now found incidentally during scans. Viewers in this video learn about historical symptoms such as blood in the urine, flank pain and abdominal lumps, which are less common today.

Transcript
Kidney cancer, especially at the early stage, has very few symptoms. In fact, it's most commonly diagnosed incidentally. A patient goes for a scan for an unrelated reason and the kidney mass is picked up. In the old days, where scans were not as available as they are today, the classical symptoms were a palpable lump in the abdomen, blood in the urine and significant pain in the flank. But these are rarely seen today.
