Techniques for helping with premature ejaculation are as follows. The first thing is, talk to your partner, don't create a vacuum of information 'cause they're gonna fill it with something worse. Tell them, Sorry, you know, I'm really worried. A couple of times we've had sex, it hasn't gone well. I'm really worried now it might happen again. And your partner will go, Oh, thought it was me, don't worry, darling, you'll be fine. Let's not, you know, insist on something happening. Let's just see how it goes. It might be a relief to the partner to hear that. The second thing is, if maybe you're a young man and you find you're getting aroused very quickly, very powerfully, it's very hard to contain it, well you know what, sometimes masturbating before sex is quite a good idea. If you fire off the first one, and that immediate urgency has dissipated, then you can enjoy the second one, you can ease into it. I wouldn't do it too early before planning to have sex, though . You know, but maybe an hour before. The other thing is therapy. So if you find that, you know, there's a wall now between my partner and myself, we don't know how to broach this, well a good therapist will help you to do that, help to normalise what's going on and putting context and saying, This is simple misunderstanding which should be easily resolved. There are some physical techniques as well that will help. The first one is the starting and stopping technique. That's basically when your level of arousal building up and think, I am gonna climax soon, stop, break the pattern, switch to foreplay, or oral sex and then start intercourse again and once you feel that's building up again, start over again. And you can probably repeat four, five cycles this way. And before you know, you've been doing this for 20 minutes or more. Another physical tip is basically called the squeeze technique and this involves either you or ideally your partner holding just the end of the penis, holding it for about 10, 20, 30 seconds or so and that sort of stops the blood for a little bit, adds a little bit of a pattern interrupt and they can also repeat this several times.
