Physiotherapy for my dizziness isn’t working. Can anything else be done?
Professor Adolfo Bronstein explains steps that can be taken to help determine why dizziness physiotherapy might not be working
Transcript
If the physiotherapy for a dizzy patient is not working the first thing we have to is to try to see what sort of physiotherapy they're doing. Because in the experience of most specialist in the area there are virtually no patients not improving with physiotherapy. I will ask the patient to explain to me what they are doing and how the physiotherapy is approaching this. The problem is the problem is that many patients say the exercises are not working. A because they are not doing them properly, B because they haven't been explained the exercises properly or how to do them, when to do them, how often to do them and what to expect from them. So the first thing would be to review what exercises the patient is actually doing. Sometimes, however, one needs to add some medication to actually boost the patient's ability to do the exercises.
