Is Pelvic Congestion Syndrome accepted by most gynaecologists?
Professor Mark Whiteley advises that Pelvic Congestion Syndrome isn’t recognised by most gynaecologists at the moment, because phlebologists, not gynaecologists, have performed the studies published.

We have no idea why pelvic congestion syndrome isn't recognised by most gynaecologists at the moment, because the world literature is full of papers on it. Mainly in the world, it's been performed by phlebologists who are interested. I think that if doctors started working together more like in our clinic where we have different doctors from different specialties working together, it'd be diagnosed more often. I think when doctors work by themselves in a single unit and they send off for tests and then get the patients back and they don't work with colleagues, it's easier not to make a diagnosis where you have to ask other specialists for help.
