Obviously, this is definitely a real condition. But it is a condition that can cause a variety of symptoms, and it's a condition that's diagnosed when many other things have been excluded. So a lot of the symptoms of irritable bowel very much overlap with an organic condition such as Crohn’s disease, colitis, and even bowel cancer. But obviously, when the proper test has been performed to exclude those, a diagnosis of IBS would be made by exclusion.
