Is egg freezing painful?

Mr Efstathios Theodorou assures women that egg freezing is not very painful, but some women experience pain and discomfort with the shots they have to take. The egg retrieval is done under sedation.

Transcript
Egg freezing involves some taking some medications, injections. Those are daily injections. Most of the women, after the first one or two days, they say that those are quite easy injections. And, it also involves some of the egg retrieval, which is a process under sedation. That process, if there was no sedation, it would be painful. After the procedure for approximately 12 to 24 hours, the woman may feel some discomfort, which usually goes away within 24 hours.
