There are several ways to stop acid reflux, it all depends on really the cause and can be different for each patient. That's why you really need to see a specialist. But generally speaking, first things first is the diet, and that would be avoiding any food that can exacerbate acid reflux, such as acidic foods, spicy foods, fatty foods, generally are the usual culprits. Secondly, there are medications to treat acid reflux, of course, and those can range from simple remedies to stronger tablets that can reduce acidity in the stomach. Third thing would be to, depending on, again, what is causing it, if there is any looseness in the valve between your gullet and stomach, then you may need either an endoscopic or a surgical procedure to tighten the valve. So there are loads of treatments, but I suggest you will need to see a specialist to identify what is the best one for you.
