How to increase sperm count naturally?
Dr Suks Minhas, Consultant Andrologist and Urologist and renown male fertility expert says the area of natural fertility boosts are quite controversial empirically but reducing smoking and alcohol consumption can definitely help.
Transcript
Male fertility is a very controversial area in terms of empiric treatment or treatments to boost fertility. Certainly, men should be advised to stop smoking. Certainly men should be advised to reduce alcohol intake to the 14 units and below, which is the recommended government intake. But ideally, if you're trying for kids, just try and reduce alcohol and smoking completely. The other issue, of course, is surrounding the use of multi-vitamins or empiric therapies. And there is an argument about using multi-vitamins may improve sperm counts, motility, and abnormal forms, and natural pregnancy rates, but the area is quite controversial. In particular we now know that oxidants, or antioxidants are commonly used now to try and treat DNA fragmentation, which is damage to the sperm DNA which can lead to a reduction in natural conception and also outcomes from IVF treatment.
