How long does IVF treatment take?
Simon Fishel explains that retrieving eggs for IVF usually takes 10 to 15 minutes, with the woman resting in the clinic for 90 minutes afterwards.

Let me just tell you very briefly how IVF has changed. When we first did it in those early days in the 1980s, women were in the clinic for 10 days at a time. Today, it's very much an outpatient procedure. We may get 10 eggs from a woman in 15 minutes. She rests in the clinic for maybe an hour and a half, and then she can leave. Then in conventional IVF, she'll only return several days later to receive the embryo, and, again, within an hour, she can leave the clinic. Very much an outpatient procedure.
