How long does it take for CBT to work?

Joanna Rodriguezadvises thatCBT (cognitive behavioural therapy)usually starts to have a noticeable effect relatively quickly, and that the number of sessions you will need will depend on your specific circumstance. This could be as few as 3 or 4 sessions.

Transcript
The effects of CBT happen relatively quickly. People tend to find benefit quickly. How many treatment sessions that you'll need depends on the severity of your symptoms when you first come, and also how long the problem's been affecting you, throughout your whole life. So, for example, if it's something that's relatively recent onset and not having that much of an impact, it might only take four or five sessions maximum. If it's something that you've suffered for your whole life, and you've just got to the point where you want treatment, it might take more sessions.
