How is psoriasis treated?

Transcript
There are a number of different treatment options for psoriasisa. Initially, we often use creams and there are a number of chemicals that we use, which include steroids, and vitamin D and coal tar. The cream that is appropriate for your skin would depend on the type of psoriasis you have and where it is, and that's best decided by your dermatologist. If your psoriasis is moderate or severe and is not controlled by creams, you may require systemic treatment. A common systemic treatment would be phototherapy or light treatment, and this is carefully supervised by your dermatologist. And you would come along and step into a light chamber and have light treatment on a regular basis for a number of weeks. This can often get psoriasis under control. If that isn't sufficient, there are a number of tablets and even injections that we use for psoriasis.
