How is low ovarian reserve treated?

Dr Haitham Hamodaexplains some of the ways that a woman’slow ovarian reservecan be treated, including with assessment, fertility diagnosis, and tablets.

Transcript
So, low ovarian reserve would indicate that individual patient will have a lower quantity of eggs than what you would expect them to have, and it can have implications on their fertility potential. If you have low ovarian reserve, that can, in time, result in infrequent ovulation. So, that patient may not ovulate on regular basis. So, in that scenario, that can lower their chances of natural conception. On the other hand, if a patient is having IVF treatment, and they have low ovarian reserve, we are less likely to get a good number of eggs, and that can affect the outcome from the IVF treatment. So, these are the implications of it. On the other hand, when an egg is released, be it naturally or through IVF, obtained through IVF in a patient with low ovarian reserve, how that egg will fertilise and the chances of pregnancy with it will be linked to the patient's age to give you an idea of what their chances of getting pregnant would be.
