How is endometriosis treated?

Dr Nitish Narvekarlists some of the ways that endometriosis can be treated, includingIVF, or surgicaltreatments before IVF.This choice depends on the location of the endometriosis.

Transcript
The mainstay of endometriosis treatment for purposes of fertility is either a choice between going for IVF straightaway or going for surgical treatment prior to going for IVF. And that choice depends upon the location of the endometriosis and more importantly whether she's having endometriosis within her ovary which is creating cysts called endometriomas. So if there are large endometriomas then the woman definitely needs to have preparatory surgery prior to IVF. But she can also benefit at that time from removing all the endometriosis because that will reduce her recurrence rate. And she can then use the treatment and the treatment benefits of surgery which may continue longer than just the IVF treatment.
