How does Lymphocyte Immune Therapy work as a treatment for recurrent miscarriages?
Dr Amin Gorgy explains that lymphocyte immune therapy was originally designed for kidney transplants, because it was found to improve the immune tolerance, and therefore patients who had this therapy tolerated their kidney better than the others. The same therapy can help the body to produce antibodies that can protect the pregnancy.

Lymphocyte immune therapy was originally designed for kidney transplant because it was found to improve the immune tolerance, and therefore patients who had this therapy tolerated their kidney better than the others. The lymphocyte immune therapy is meant to help the body to produce antibodies that protect the pregnancy. When pregnancy happens, the placenta carries antigens from the father. So lymphocyte immune therapy will help create what we call blocking antibodies, which will cover these foreign antigens in the placenta without rejecting the pregnancy. And that would help the immune system of the mother to tolerate the half foreign baby. Not only that, but lymphocyte immune therapy induce [inaudible] cells, which are immune tolerant cells.
