How do polyps affect fertility?

How dopolypsaffect fertility?Dr Nitish Narvekarexplains that endometriosis can affect fertility because they are found on the womb lining (where they are not supposed to be) thus they decrease the chance of implantation.

Transcript
By nature of being in a place where they are not supposed to be where, for example, the lining of the uterus is supposed to be nice and smooth and grows regularly with hormone treatments or natural hormones that the woman has during her cycle. The polyp by being there acts as a foreign body and that's the best way to describe it. And that can reduce the chances of implantation of an embryo either conceiving naturally or through IVF.
