How do fibroids affect fertility?

Dr Nitish Narvekarexplains thatfibroidscan affect fertility by reducing the chance of implantation, and increase the risk of miscarriage.

Transcript
Fibroids, because of their presence in the muscle of the uterus and sometimes depending on their size and location, they may push into the endometrium as well which is where the baby tends to implant and grow from there. They will reduce implantation, i.e., the chance of an embryo either conceived naturally or through IVF, sticking to the endometrium. Or they may increase the risk of miscarriage, i.e., the embryo or the baby, you know, miscarrying after implantation has occurred.
