How are polyps removed and treated?

Dr Nitish Narvekarexplains thatpolypsare removed and treated in a very simple and straightforward surgery, but advises that the surgery needs to be very precise.

Transcript
The treatment of polyps is very simple and straightforward. It's not a very complex surgery, but it needs to be very precise surgery. For example, polyps can be just looked at with a telescope operation through the cervix. And one of the ways of treating polyps is to just advance the polyp which is to pull them. This, unfortunately, results in incomplete treatment. The most precise way is to cut the polyp at its base or either with a scissor or with a diathermy current. And this reduces the risk of recurrence. So yes, patients can go to clinics and hospitals and have what they call a polypectomy, but this doesn't necessarily mean complete treatment from the purposes of fertility.
