Following the treatment to embolise your aneurysm, how was your recovery?
Brain aneurysm and haemorrhage patient Jane Gooch says following the surgery, she had hospital acquired pneumonia which delayed her hospital discharge for 2 weeks .
Transcript
The recovery was awful, actually, because nobody tells you what the recovery's going to be like. So when you break a bone, your bone heals and you go back to a hospital every week and they X-ray you to see how the bone's healing. But because nobody really knows about the brain, your brain takes forever to heal. So you're just left kind of in limbo, wondering how long the headache will last for. Because you always feel tired, as well. You get this neuro fatigue. So the recovery is still ongoing, to be honest, I'm nearly three years post haemorrhage. It gets better, but you know I still get really, really tired because my brain has to work harder now to do the things it used to do fine.
