Do you offer infertility tests?
Simon Fishel advises clients that infertility is a complex area, and Care Fertility runs a wide variety of tests that look at both male and female factor infertility.
Transcript
Infertility is a hugely complex area, and one of the most important things we learned in those very, very early days, about 40 years ago now, was that there was something called male factor infertility, and this wasn't appreciated at the time because the woman was the overt sign of a successful conception. Now, we know that probably at least 50% of the cause of infertility is male factor. In trying to establish tests for infertility, you deal with a couple, you deal with the female side, you deal with the male side, and you have to try to establish, is there a particular individual or joint causes that are creating the problem? Yes, there are tests for so-called infertility or the infertility problem that a couple or an individual is struggling with, but there are many of them, and it really needs a really detailed investigation to both those, if it's a couple being involved, and even if it's, for example, using egg donation. We still need to make sure that the male side is fertility competent.
