Can you prevent leg ulcers from forming?

Leg ulcers can result from advanced varicose veins. In this video, Mr. Ahmed Shalan explains how early treatment helps prevent skin damage and long term complications.

Transcript
Yes, you can prevent leg ulcers from forming if you address the cause as early as possible. You need to address the varicose vein in early stages before you reach the stage that you have damaged the skin. That always starts with darkening of the skin in the middle aspect of the leg. You can have signs of inflammation and itching around the leg as well. At that stage, your varicose vein is symptomatic and needs to be treated and addressed before it gets to the stage that develops leg ulcer. Always good to adopt lifestyle habits like leg elevation. Wearing the compression stocking is useful as well and making sure that you have good calf muscles and performing exercise on a regular basis.
