Can erectile dysfunction be the sign of an underlying issue?

Dr Paul Erotocritou advises that erectile dysfunction can be a sign of underlying conditions, such as diabetes, prostate cancer, and high blood pressure.

Transcript
Certainly we know that whilst it's not unusual for erectile dysfunction to occur at any age, it certainly becomes more common and more permanent in our 40's and 50's. This can often be a sign that we need to have a checkup, as a lot of factors can be associated with erectile dysfunction over a process going on within the body itself, there are links with diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol levels. There would be a chance, if you're worried about prostate cancer, to have your prostate checked and the PSA level done.
