Can a chest X-ray help diagnose heart symptoms?

Dr Ravi Assomull describes how a chest X-ray can support the assessment of symptoms such as breathlessness or chest pain. In this video, he explains how it can reveal lung conditions, fluid build-up or an enlarged heart, guiding further cardiac investigations.

Transcript
So chest x-ray can be of value for people with heart symptoms, if that's breathlessness or chest pain, because it gives us a clue as to whether there are problems in the lungs, if there's any event of infection in the lungs or fluids in the lungs or perhaps even a collapsed lung. The chest x-ray will also show whether the heart is potentially enlarged, and that may prompt further imaging studies of the heart, such as echocardiography.
